To document and amplify the real, human stories of Pakistan through on-the-ground journalism and cultural reportage that honours everyday voices, challenges stereotypes, and restores dignity to narratives overlooked by mainstream media and development discourse.

To build a global home for South Asian storytelling: a cultural repository that tells Pakistan’s stories with honesty, depth, and integrity, redefining how the world sees Pakistan and how Pakistanis see themselves.

Founder’s Note

Throughout my career in development, I saw how ground realities slipped through the cracks: reports measured progress, yet ignored the lived experiences of the people who form Pakistan’s heartbeat. The rhythm of daily life, fleeting conversations during chai breaks, street corners, all existed outside meetings and metrics. I wanted to create something more personal, rooted in everyday truth.
In a country of over 250 million, there are 250 million stories. 
International development often overlooks the common man, and mainstream media rarely stops to listen.
Gully Kahani exists to reclaim the narrative from the top-down, and show how ordinary lives reveal extraordinary truths.
The revolution begins in the Gully, one Kahani at a time.
